St Brigids National School is situated on spacious grounds in the rolling hills of West Wicklow. The school is located in picturesque village of Manor Kilbride, 2 miles from the main Blessington Road.

School Ethos

St.Brigid’s N.S., under the auspices of the Catholic Church, is a place of learning and development for all its educational partner, based on Christian values and morals. Our aim is to create a friendly and warm atmosphere for the children to achieve and are happy to learn to their potential and where both they and their parents feel welcome at all times.

We encourage prospective parents to visit our school.

The B.O.M is made up or two nominees of the Patron, two parents of the children enrolled in the school, the principal and one other teacher and two other members who are proposed by the above six nominees. The Bishop is the Patron of the school. The members of the Board hold office for a period not exceeding four years.

There is a very active Parent’s Association that provides enormous support in the school. Meetings are held monthly. Membership is voluntary, and the aims of a Parent’s Association are to foster co-operation between parents, teacher and school management, presenting the views of the parents of developments in education and in the school

Activities:

We aim to allow each child to experience a wide range of activities as possible.

Gaelic Football, Swimming, Music during the school year.

French, Choir, Basketball, Chess, Hurling, Gaelic Football coaching takes place outside of school hours. These clubs depend both on the good will of the hard working staff and also parental help.

We also have Educational Tours, Visits to Theatre Groups and Mobile Educational Units visit the school each year.

We also organise a number of open days, parent tours and events throughout the year.
