The name Bethany recalls the visit of Jesus to Mary and Martha on the death of their brother Lazarus. Although grieving is a natural process which can be helped by the sympathy
and understanding of friends, sometimes one may need support to work
through it in a positive way. The Bethany Bereavement
Support Group offers the following supports to those in our community
that have been bereaved: Group Support is offered by trained Bethany members, to provide the bereaved with an opportunity to share their experiences in complete confidence. Each person is given the opportunity to speak about his/her bereavement but there is no obligation to do so. One is free to say as little or as much as she/he wishes. One-to-one support is also provided at the monthly meetings. Alternatively if anyone wishes to speak to a trained Bethany listener they can do so at anytime by contacting any of the Bethany team listed. Home visits: on occasion, the Bethany Group members will offer support to those who may not be in a position to avail of the other support services offered. This is a free, confidential service. Meetings are held twice monthly in the new Parish Centre
in the grounds of St. Mary’s Junior National School in Blessington.
Meetings take place on the 1st Friday of each month from 10.00am to
11.00am and on
the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 8.00pm to 9.00pm.
