Blessington Education Centre opened its doors as an Adult Education Centre in 1994. It is situated on the Baltinglass Road in Blessington. It was originally St. Marks Vocational School which opened in the early 1960s and is built on 2 ½ acres.

The Centre is part of a Network of Centres under Co Wicklow Vocational Education Committee. The Chief Executive Officer of Co. Wicklow V.E.C. is Ms. Fiona Hartley. Mr. Brian Mac Diarmada is Adult Education Officer. The Centre has a Board of Management representative of V.E.C. members, local Politicians and Community Representatives.

Blessington Education Centre is multi-functional and is a great asset to the Community. It has provided many people with the opportunity for further education, especially women with young children. It also helps many people in Blessington to become socially active and it provides opportunities to meet with other people.

Plans are at an advanced stage to modernise the main building and to provide extra accommodation for the increasing numbers attending the Centre. The V.E.C. places special emphasis on the academic programmes available in the Centre.
